Curitiba, Brazil
That is where I was born and raised. Curitiba is a fairly big city in Brazil, and also where I was raised by a single mom, herself an immigrant, up until I finished high school and had the opportunity to move to the U.S.
First to study biochemistry at the University of South Florida, then to pursue a neuroscience Ph.D. at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Currently, I am a postdoctoral scientist at Columbia University's Zuckerman Institute, working alongside
Dr. Bianca Jones-Marlin to understand how trauma gets passed through multiple generations.
